ABOUT YMAD
"Youth Making a Difference" is a program to grow lifelong philanthropists, who give their time, talent, and treasure for the common good.
This Council accepts high school freshmen through seniors in one of SCCF's seven county service area. Aiming to educate the youth on philanthropy, the grant making process, and the importance of giving back to their community. YMAD meets twice a year in the fall.
The main responsibility of a YMAD Council member is reading all Community Grant applications from the seven counties. The Council receives the applications in early September and then meets at Pratt Community College at the end of the month (on a Sunday afternoon) to select that year's grant recipients.
Typically, YMAD grants over $20,000 and then attends their county's ceremony to present these awards in late October or early November.
YMAD is a Nationally Recognized program and was selected as the 2015 Bob Carter Companies Outstanding Youth in Philanthropy Award Recipient!
