PLATT RANCH SCHOLARSHIP

2026 GUIDELINES

About Mike and Betty                  

Mike and Betty Platt were long time residents of Medicine Lodge. Betty was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and was respected in the community. She was an active volunteer for the American Cancer Society as well as other charitable organizations. She was devoted to her faith and her church.

Scholarship Requirements:

  1. Preference given to a senior who will graduate from U.S.D. 254, Medicine Lodge High School the year the scholarship is awarded or a home school student in Medicine Lodge, KS.
  2. Preference given to students that have a minimum 3.0 cumulative Grade Point Average.
  3. Preference given to those pursuing higher education at a Christian college.
  4. Letter of recommendation (non-family members).
  5. Must be enrolled full-time in post-secondary education as defined by the institution.
  6. Verification of ACT scores.

This scholarship is NON-renewable.

South Central Community Foundation Requirements:

      1. Must upload two letters of recommendation.

           A. School teacher (any subject) 

           B. Community member (someone who knows you outside of school)

      2. Must upload ACT/SAT scores.

      3. Must upload high school transcript or if a current college student must upload college transcript.

Failure to complete any of these requirements will disqualify your application from consideration.
